Why Should You Travel in Your Twenties?

Travel teaches empathy

Tourist destinations are all the same, at least almost the same, no matter the time you choose to go. The only thing that changes is your standpoint to view things and places. Even though there is no undeniable age to travel, it is better that you travel when you are young. While sitting at home, we imagine the look of a place by seeing its pictures, but it is only when we physically reach there that we understand the reality. Travel makes us do unimaginable things that we would never do in the native place. Everyone has several reasons to go around to visit the hidden treasures in the world, but not many people are willing to do it unless it is too late sometimes. The youth comes and goes in the flash of your eyelid. Before it gets too late to discover the world and your inner self through travel, you must make the best use of your twenties or thirties.

The sense of an adventurous life

Life is challenging as it is, even if you never step out of your city. Most people are afraid to take risks in their daily life since they are not conditioned to take a chance. When you travel to a new place, you may have to try new foods, wear unfamiliar clothes, wash yourself in the morning without water, and do many things that push you out of your comfort zone. They force you to take risks in different categories, even if they are not life-threatening unless you try bungee jump or the like. By and large, travel makes you an adventurous person, which is essential to learn when you are young.

You may have never got familiar with cats until you travel to Bali, for instance, but you will find many street cats in the country that will come to you for pampering them. Even if a creature is not of your own kind, you will still find yourself loving it or just smiling at it. While meeting new people while traveling, you become compassionate towards them. If you happen to go to a place that suddenly experiences a natural disaster, you will see yourself doing things for people that you have never done before that day. Challenging times bring people together; consider the example of Kerala floods in India that brought the entire nation together. And when you are young, you are in a better position to help, even though you can empathize with people throughout your life.

Travel makes you an informed person

Information is easy to gather in today’s world because you have a smartphone and the internet, but some experiences can only be felt in reality, and better when you are still in your youth. Unless you travel to the Indian metropolitans, you would perhaps never know that you can take cars on rent in Pune. Similarly, if you never go to Gujarat, you would never understand what it means to be in a dry state where you cannot consume alcohol. Without going to Kerala, you may never know how they extract natural coconut oil right in front of your eyes. Only a visit to Singapore can teach you the true meaning of hygiene and discipline. That is why; you hear travelers telling tales of your vacations in each city because they experience marvelous things that make them an educated person in the real sense.

You can never deny the fact that you can groom your personality at its best when you are young. As you grow old, you tend to become rigid about things. Travel makes you a flexible and attractive person. As they say, a well-traveled person is equal to a well-read person. Just go for it when you still have time!
